Too Much Cancer Awareness, and Not Enough Cancer Prevention?

In a nation where 1 in every 3 people get cancer in their lifetime, and an estimated $125 billion spent on treatments each year with a projected increase to $173 billion by 2020, cancer is one of the leading industries in the United States. Every month a different type of cancer is highlighted for “awareness” but what does that really mean? Every October sports teams, retail stores and other companies market pink items for breast cancer awareness. Every pink item you buy, a portion of the proceeds will go to breast cancer research. But what results is this research bringing? It is a fact that in the last 40 years minimal to no advancements have been made in cancer treatments. There continues to be only 3 recognized forms of treatment (even though many more exist and have been found to be effective): chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. Cancer research is not aimed to find a cure, it is aimed to growing an already flourishing business. So why keep promoting “cancer awareness” and not cancer prevention. Marketing! These companies don’t want you to know that cancer is preventable, just like cigarette companies didn’t want us to know that cigarettes kill you. Yes some forms of cancer are hereditary, but still preventable. Cancer is a metabolic disease, not a genetic disease.

“Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; lover her and she will watch over you. The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. Cherish her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honor you” (Proverbs 4:6-8).

The root cause of cancer is a weak immune system. Everyone has cancer cells in their body, but when your immune system is functioning properly, you are able to naturally fight cancerous cells when they begin to mutate. When organs become contaminated with microbes due to bad food, vaccinations, etc., this leads to a weakened immune system because those microbes take the glucose that is meant for the cells. So your cells become weakened and the microbes gain energy and power. This is why cancer can come back. After being treated, if you continue to ingest unhealthy foods and have a weakened immune system then you are opening the door for cancer to flourish in your body.

It’s time to just stop being aware of cancer. Big business wants you to pay for screenings and treatments. They can’t make money from us if we are preventing cancer ourselves. Maybe then they will actually find a cure to this epidemic once they realize that people are becoming educated on the pathology of their business.

One of the most important things that you can do to prevent cancer and almost any disease in your body is to boost your immune system. Obviously, this can be done by eating a well balanced diet, getting enough rest, and exercise regularly.  But there are immune system builder supplements available. Stop eating large amounts of sugar. Cancer cells love an acidic environment and this is what eating sugar does to your body. You are essentially making a home for cancer mutations.  Alkaline foods are your body’s happy place, and create the most functional environment. The obvious, stop smoking! Wear sunscreen, even on cloudy days when exposed to UV rays for long periods of time. Prevent chemical exposure. Limit alcohol consumption.

If cancer does find a home in your body, it is also important to realize that there are other treatments out there besides the regular. Cancer cannot just be cut out through surgery. Chemotherapy and radiation can leave your body open to further cancer due to the fact that they both weaken your immune system. All treatments need to done under the supervision of a physician. Many people think that if they turn their life around after already contracting cancer that it will kill the cancer cells. I do not advise this because many times you do not know the whole extent of the damage that has already taken place.
